We designed the VeloVixen website as a scalable ecommerce system that would continue to provide an excellent user experience as their product range diversified and grew. Understanding trends in online shopping habits and expectations, particularly those of the female market, were critical contributors to the site’s design. We wanted to ensure that the site presented product collections in a logical and easy-to-navigate fashion, whilst also offering users the option to filter products based on personal preferences such as cycling discipline, price, colour, brand, and size.
Content driven marketing was a second major influence in the site’s design, with the provision of additional containers for product technical and brand content. Blogging was to become a key feature in VeloVixen marketing campaigns, as an in-road to the site. We developed a bespoke ‘featured product’ widget that could be utilised in blog posts to encourage readers to transition from the blog into the shop.
Since its original launch, we have provided two major updates to the website's frontend aesthetics, and have developed a number of bespoke additions to its functionality, including: dynamically generated shipping information; bundle flags; and a product page video gallery that embeds content from YouTube and Vimeo.
